Contributors: opting out of public display

With a GitHub account (instant)

If your commits are linked to your GitHub account, sign in at Contributor settings and opt out. No review, no questions. The opt-out:

• removes your name, avatar, cards, and superlatives from all public pages;
• applies to every archive entry, in this and all future editions;
• purges cached/shareable images that identified you;
• keeps your commits in anonymous project-level totals only.

Without a linkable GitHub account (verified)

Some commits can’t be safely tied to a GitHub account. Use the privacy removal request. We verify that you correspond to the displayed contributor identity using the minimum private evidence necessary (never exposed publicly), then suppress that identity from public display and regenerate affected images.

Repository owners and maintainers

Owners may request removal of their repository’s entry via the report form — select “I own/maintain this repository”. Verified maintainers get a fast path. Removed pages are replaced by a neutral notice; the content leaves public display. We retain the private payment and audit records the law requires.

Anyone: reporting a page

Every archive page links to the report form. Valid reasons include incorrect information, privacy concerns, harassment or abuse, trademark issues, and contributor identity problems. A human reviews every report.

Frozen editions

Removal and opt-out rights apply to frozen (sealed) editions too — permanence never overrides a person’s right to withdraw from public display.
